Carlos Almendárez joined Bush Gottlieb in April 2021.
Mr. Almendárez graduated from the Epstein Program in Public Interest Law and Policy at the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law. While in law school, he served as the president of the UCLA School of Law Class of 2017, executive editor of the Chicana/o-Latina/o Law Review, chair of the Workers’ Rights Project at Bet Tzedek Legal Services, and as a member of the La Raza Law Students Association. He also externed for the Honorable Harry Pregerson on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and was a legal extern at the National Labor Relations Board in Los Angeles (Region 21).
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Almendárez was a senior labor representative for Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 721, where he provided representation at formal arbitration hearings pertaining to high-level discipline and terminations, contractual disputes, and in cases before the Los Angeles County and City Civil Service Commissions. Prior to his time at SEIU, he worked at another Los Angeles-area union-side law firm.
Mr. Almendárez is fluent in Spanish.
