Garrett McCoy joined the firm as an associate in September 2018.
After earning his Bachelor’s Degree from Amherst College in Massachusetts, Mr. McCoy attended the UCLA School of Law, where he focused his studies on labor law, litigation, and performed extensive research on implicit bias among judges.
While at UCLA, Mr. McCoy worked with A New Way of Life Reentry Project to expunge criminal convictions of clients, drafting declarations for judicial review on their behalf. He also assisted Southern California labor union UNITE HERE Local 11 with its ongoing campaigns.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. McCoy served as a judicial extern to the Honorable Edward J. Davila, federal judge of the Northern District of California. Mr. McCoy continued to work on behalf of California unions as a law clerk for the California Teachers Association. There he researched legal briefs, drafted scripts for witness examinations, and assisted with hearings before the California Public Employment Relations Board.
